When I was young and partied each night
I’d nod off slurring, “Tomorrow, I’ll make things right,
Waking up early with the world for a change
Get a job, a new car, and plenty of that chump change.”
/
But the future is now
Tomorrow never comes,
Each tomorrow morning
We plan to change
We put it off and re-arainge
As we always wake up today
So all I can say is “Life is an Endless Day.”
/
I used to desire happiness, searching for the truth
Then I saw it was the looking that made me blind.
Progress is impossible as it will always mean time,
And the flash comes when the clock is set to “anytime.”
/
If we just realize the persuit of happiness causes
Our misery, and we finally ask, “Who wants to be happy
And why?” Then maybe when you look in the morning
Mirror there will finally be no reflection.
/
But the future is now
Tomorrow never comes,
Every tomorrow morning
We plan to change
We put it off and re-arainge
As we always wake up today
Then all I can say is “Life is an Endless Day”
/
To stop the clock we always need to curl into cocoons
While other caterpillars with too many legs and slow
Will label you crazy as a loon, and when you fly away
On rainbow wings all caterpillars on sticks will say,
“Kill that butterfly or put it to sleep right away!”
/
Socrates took the hemlock poison, his penalty to be
Put to sleep for corrupting the youth with questions.
So I will not ask again and just say, “If you’ve been torn
There is a space between thoughts where silence
Exists and in that space the Universe is born.
/
So the future is now
Tomorrow never comes,
Every tomorrow morning
We plan to change
We put it off and re-arainge
As we always wake up today
Just say, “Life is an Endless Day Today!
Life is an Endless Day Today!”
